[C38] Listserve Digest, Vol 3, Issue 151

IF you mean the foggy look of the plastic, if it has had Windex or
another ammonia cleaner used on it, then most likely you will not be
able to do much with it. Otherwise, Plex is the produce we are
currently using. If you are speaking about actual fog as in mist, then
an antifogging product such as divers use on their masks will work.
Plastic cleaners approved for the type of material you have in your
dodger windows will tend to minimize fogging from moisture, but for the
real stuff from fog, then the diving mask stuff works well.

Never use ammonia cleaners on any of the plastic window materials,
lexan, plexiglass, or the flexible plastic windows in dodgers. Any
"new' cleaner should be tried in an inconspicious spot for several
months to check its action. Lots of glass cleaners use ammonia, but
glass is much more resistant, while most plastics will create a chemical
bond to the ammonia creating the foggy look on the plastic. Sometimes
if the damage is not too bad, one of the "buff it out" type cleaners
will clear it up a bit, but it is a lot of work, and I found on
convertible windows that it didn't clear it up for too long (about
10-13 months at best before the yellowing came back.)
