Charles,
Because I race and do not like having the radar high on the mast
interferring with sails, I have my radar mounted on a mast on my stern.
Make certain you make the mast at least 8 feet high. Edson has them. I
mounted the readout at the pedestal in an edson mount. On problem is
that the print on the plotter is so small I have to put my reading
glasses on to read it so usually just use my GPS which is on the
pedestal in another mount. One think I did mount high on the mast is a
Birdell Blipper. this is the ultimate radar reflector. It makes Macavity
look like a 400 footer in the fog. I get respect from the oil field
boats in the fog (and disgust when they we how small we really are)Joe
