Charles,

Im currently having the same done to Peregrine, just a quess but since
your wires are all black I'd assume that someone in the past ran new
wires and used what they had rather than following the original color
coding scheme. The wiring diagram states white is the anchor light. I
personally wouldnt worry about the colors running through the mast, my
tricolor needs four wires, anchor, running and emergency strobe and the
last being a common ground. A suggestion might be to use the white as
ground and the blacks for your power, then when the mast is up and your
hooking up inside the boat you can trial and error the hookups to see
which wire lights which light, then mark the wires in the bilge at the
connections for future reference using colored electrical tape. Unless
of course you want to pull colored wire to match up with the wires
coming from your distribution panel. Good luck, BTW your lucky you have
sun, it has been snowing in Seattle this week.

I am installing the OGM tri-color / anchor (LED) as a replacement to the
anchor light. The mast is currently mounted on the deck and the boat is
of course still on the hard, which means I cannot reach the wires coming
from the bottom of the mast. My problem is I just removed the anchor
light and discovered it was actually two bulbs with four wires (it
appears that one is white and three are black, but I am standing tiptoe
at the top of an 8 foot ladder in bright sun). Is this normal (I am
referring to the wiring and not my mental state:-)? Why only one
white?

Thanks,
Charles Finn
