I have a picture of a PYI installed on a C38. I'll try to send it tomorrow.

We put on a PSS dripless packing gland and it's GREAT - never a drop of
water and never a complaint. We replaced our first one after about 5 years
of cruising, not because anything was wrong, but we just thought it might be
time. The one we removed looked perfect after about 15K miles.

Has anyone put in a dry shaft packing vs. the drip that the boat came with?
We have a one inch shaft, recently replaced the packing but still have to
adjust it all the time. There must be a better way. LOL Also, what's the
typical life of a cutlass bearing? I know, it probably depends upon how
much you run the engine, we run ours a bit.
