I considered having a drip less shaft seal installed on Peregrine,
during my research I came across the story at the above link and decided
to stay with the tried and true packing that has served us well for so
many years.

GFO Packing, has anyone tried that for their shaft packing? It's a bit
cheaper than a dripless shaft bearing, well a lot cheaper. I just
ordered some and will give it a try and report back to you all. The ad
claims it's almost dripless.
