Hi Mike
Our emergency tiller is a short metal tube. A piece of black pipe may work fine check the ID of the fitting. As far as sails go Bacon is a good source here on the east coast but they will ship anywhere. There descriptions are very accurate. You should also try National sails in FLA. I bought my new sails from them and they are half price of local guys and great quality. They also have used. Good luck with the boat.
