[C38] Boom rotation

I was already to replace my vang with a nice new rigid one from garhauer then I realized my boom rotates to leeward under sail.  Should our goose necks have a shear pin inside to prevent the rotation or is the rotation normal?  Max I was looking at your blog and we have the same set up how did you secure the boom?  Thanks.
