When we have someone new on board the first thing I do is show them where
the life jackets and fire extinguishers are and how to operate them.  Next
comes the head, radio, man overboard pole and procedures.  We then talk
about "yelling" at someone and explain that if the person gets yelled at
it's because we want to make sure they hear us and it may be because they
are doing something they should not be doing, grabbed the boom vang instead
of the main sheet etc.  LOL  and to NEVER take a yell personal!
