Bob, curious question you wouldn't by chance by a Jr. would you? My
father In Law bought his first company "Porter Seal" from a Bob Porter
who was also a sailor.

Steve;

When you haul the boat, inspect the area where the rudder post enters
the rudder. With the forces you sustained, it is likely you may have
damaged this seam. If so, the rudder may take on water. Up here in the
Northern latitudes that may lead to freeze damage during the winter.

	Hi Folks;

	I suspect I may have slightly bend the rudder post or
compromised where it comes through the hull. I was laid up on ledge
yesterday due to the out going tide and took measures to minimize damage
to the hull and rudder, and she re-floated without incedent. However,
afterward under [full] power the wheel creeped to port, which it didn't
do before, and after an hour she had taken on a little water (about a
gallon and a half). Prudence getting the better of me, I'm going to
haull it and take a closer look. So, I have two questions, 1) if the
post has a slight bend is is the type of thing that could be
straightened or should it be replaced, and 2) is there anything back
there that might not be obvious that I should look at (a seal, bushing,
etc)?
