What size cable did you use to attach the reefing hook and do you have a
picture of how you attached it to the mast?

Hi Guys,

I took the gooseneck end cap of the boom and drilled a hole through the end
cap alloy and the large stainless pin, and installed a 1/4" stainless pin in
order to avoid rotation.

Hope this helps.

Steve and Max: The large pin enters the boom to allow for rotation. It is
pretty corroded now, and is frozen. I tremble when I read about your boom
problems and know that more of them loom soon enough. Regards, Don

I was already to replace my vang with a nice new rigid one from garhauer
then I realized my boom rotates to leeward under sail. Should our goose
necks have a shear pin inside to prevent the rotation or is the rotation
normal? Max I was looking at your blog and we have the same set up how did
you secure the boom? Thanks.

Steve
