[C38] Forward hatch replacement??

Glenn,

Because of the angle that that hatch is located, do you think that a 1/4" of
Lexan, will be more robust than a 5/8" In the middle section) fiberglass
hatch??? I doubt that a hatch will be stronger than the original. Prettier,
perhaps, but stronger...........

 Some people have replaced their hatch with a Cruising Concepts hatch with a
smoke lexan, or acrylic lens, but I haven't heard that It has been replaced
with an aftermarket hatch. Of course it is possible, with too much
fiberglass work involved in an are where you be able to see the detail
everytime you laying down on the forward berth looking up!!

This hatch is that heavy that it was always slipping on its own support arm,
and falling down at the middle of a great night sleep. It was like someone
was waking me up with drums next to my ears, so I bought a Taylor SS
hydraulic piston at West Marine, and problem solved.With a gentile push it
will go to the full open position and remains there until someone will pull
it down.
