I don't know what the others will tell you, but my philosophy is to do
as much as I can when I get some major piece of hardware exposed. Think
about the work so far, and if you would want to repeat that later??

Taking the blocks off will let you assess their condition, renew the
seal to the deck, and the seal around the screws, as well as a a full
suite of varnish coats without the risk of getting the varnish into all
those places it can go when you don't want it to.

Also the screws themselves can be checked for wear or corrosion while
you are in there.

Just my opinion, but of course it all depends on time, energy, and
other factors, which often influence the amount of "boat grunt" we put
into our projects.

I'm having a hard time getting out the two wheels on the cars that need replacing. There is no brand name on them but I am guessing they are the origional ones. If any one of you fellows that have replaced your traveler have your old cars left I would be interested in buying them.

Can I assume that these screws go through the track, through the wooden blocks and onto the cabin top? I really do not want to remove the track just get another set of cars.
