Thank you Larry,

I'll add Grib to my Weather Favorites and if I run across any other software you or others might be interested in, I'll pass it along.

Thanks Tom, what I am looking for is something that shows me a chart, I can designate the area that I want the weather forecast for, download the grib files and they overlay on the chart. I did find one program that does this fairly well but the detail leaves a lot to be desired, it’s: UGRIB, it’s free on a download at: http://www.grib.us/ But I would like more detail and to be able to closer define the area(s) I’m interested in.

Hello Larry,

I'm at a loss as to what the weather files you download from the SSB radio are. They must have originated at some computer or URL didn't they?

I have not downloaded anything from a packet TNC in many years and I don't even know if our SSB still works but we log onto the Internet to get local weather and radar from sites like:

Accuweather.com
Wuderground.com
Crownweather.com
Stormpulse.com
Intellicast.com
Newsmax.com/zipweather

Greetings and Hallucinations to all. “Grasshopper” comes to the feet of the “Masters” for some advice. I have a SSB/Ham radio on board Hassle and can and do download weather files etc. BUT, I would like to find, if there is one, a free program that will do it all from my office on my laptop without the SSB or Ham connection using just my high speed internet connection. I hope this all makes sense to you out there. Please keep in mind, I am not particularly software savvy so something simple that I can block out an area and get the grib files for it.
