Larry they would mutiny if I suggested that drastic of a cut in rations. For my recent birthday my wife bought me a nice flask engraved with a c38 outline she felt it better than using a bottle for the traditional sunset strait shots.

Chuck good idea going against the hinge! My inlaws bought a Spencer years ago that had been rigged by the previous owner to be supposedy able to lower the mast using a halyard lead to the bow and then a winch. His thinking was when cruising the world he could drop the 65' mast himself when needed. Good thing he never got out of the harbor. He also had the bright idea of covering the finished bottom with a layer of fiberglass to prevent blistering. The guy we sold to told me that the entire sheet came off one night half way to Tahiti. That would have been one heck of a surprising noise in the dark.
