[C38] Okay after tsunami?

Rory & I watched the footage from Santa Cruz (which is right on the coast,
facing open ocean) on Friday morning; but figured we didn't have anything
to worry about being as our marina is inside the Bay, 7 nm NE of the Gate,
with a big island between it & us. WRONG!

The harbormaster said there were at least six surges at Brickyard Cove
Marina, 3 to 4 ft depth changes in 30 minutes, over about 4 hrs on Friday
morning. Strong currents, white water, submerged nav markers & at least one
private dock that was ripped to shreds -- fortunately no known damage to
boats or people. Who knew.

Not only do we dock at Brickyard Cove, I'm also a member of the maintenance
staff. We had a meeting today to discuss what we did & what we could do
better next time there's a tsunami warning. It's a learning experience...

> We did have some interesting water movement here in South San Francisco
at Oyster Cove Marina. The tsunami caused the water to rise and fall about
1 meter every 30 minutes for over 3 hours. The motion was not felt in the
boat but could be seen against the sea wall. I have attached some photos.
I missed the first 2 cycles which had the most dramatic changes. The name
on each picture is the time that I took the photo.

was wondering if all the C38'ers have had time to check their boats and is
everything fine out there?
