We mounted ours upside down in the same location so that when you open
the vee berth door it is there hanging in front of you. We built an
aluminum shelf running aft to the vee berth bulkhead, We also have a
small diaphragm mounted just before the watermaker to help stabilize
pressure to the unit its supposed to help offset any minor disturbances
from the through hull and pump. This weekend have to finish up with
finding where to get rid of the brine discharge. Larry we got our
rudder from Phil's Foils in Ottawa Canada, a little different design
than yours so sorry cant help you out on the weight. Your appeal to
PHRF should go your way, you can at least argue that you didn't change
much as if I remember from the drawings the Foss Foam shape is the same
depth and about the same wetted surface as the original, our is a tad
bit less surface and 6" deeper. Local PHRF thought it was to
significant of a change not to hit us with the full penalty.

Hi Larry,

We have the raw water filter mounted vertically on the plywood partition
behind the forward water tank. We can get to the valves through the
little door in the V berth.

Hummmm, I guess we could take the water maker intake from the galley and
the discharge through the thru hull. A little extra plumbing but maybe
worth it. Where did you install the raw water filter for it Rich???
