[C38] mast winch

Hey Larry,

I thought I'd get out to Crusader last month but (thankfully) the winter has been very busy with sail repairs, rigging, boat shows, Internet sales, and more. The economy seems to be looking up in this part of the world. Yesterday I spent the entire day at the marina installing lifelines. Yay!

You can be sure that I'll let you know when I'm headed out there. I'm craving coastal waters.

Hope to see you soon,

Bruce

My favorite method for climbing the mast is the ATN Mastclimber. I use it almost weekly throughout the season to climb masts for work. It takes some physical effort to use but it's well worth it.

Does anyone see anything wrong with drilling and tapping the mast to mount an off road vehicle winch to work on the mast? Not a permanent mount just when needed run the wires out the hatch. I have a 2000 lbs with remote.
