[C38] stop switch

Julian,

While installing a single lever control, I noticed that there is no way to
shut down the 5424 without pulling hard the throttle lever.

There are only two levers on the 5424, a throttle and a decompression
lever. There is no stop lever on the 5424, The throttle lever is the one
that shuts the engine down. The is a linkage on starboard side of the
engine that looks like a lever, but is just a linkage.

The system is easy to adjust. At the beginning, at was afraid to pull the
throttle lever on the pedestal too hard, but after checking the system, I
noticed that there is a heavy spring that needs to be pulled hard.

I recommend you to disconnect the lever and linkage at the engine and try
it manually. Is easy to accelerate and shut it down. That way, you'll be
able to adjust it so it works ok for you.

So, While I install the new engine (which has a shut down solenoid), The
single lever is disconnected.
I have three levers on the pedestal and only two are functional.

Hope this helps.
