[C38] LED Bulbs

Hello Larry,

It sounds like you have received good advice already concerning the LEDs
but I did want to add something.

My boat was kept in St. Pete Florida which means solar destruction of
anything.  I upgraded to the Aqua Signal light mounted on the pulpit which
used a single bulb and was also easier to see from a distance than the
original hull mounted Perko lights which always shorted out in heavy seas.

Before I mounted the new light fixture, I painted the outside with a gloss
black enamel for weather and sun protection and the inside with a gloss
white enamel for reflectivity.  I also upgraded the bulb to an LED
replacement bulb but by painting the inside of the fixture it made the LED
light much brighter with no additional current.

Five years after painting my Aqua Signal fixture it still looked like new
while a newer boat on my dock that was launched after my painting procedure
had a similar but unpainted light that was already gray from the Florida
sun.
