[C38] Spreader Problem / Sail Re Cut

I think we are saying the same thing but here is my description on setting
the spreader angles.

I adjust my spreaders so the shroud angles are the same above and below the
tip of the spreader. This makes any lateral force on the spreaders to be
directly toward the spreader base with no force bias to either lift or drop
the spreaders. 

I put small stainless hose clamps on the shrouds below the spreader tips to
help hold the spreaders at that equal angle.  With the hose clamps
installed, I can actually stand on the spreaders near the mast and the
spreaders still hold their angle.
