Hi Craig, I'm Dan Miller with #108 Blonde Stranger, I'm in Middle River, almost directly across the bay from Wortons. I am currently broke down (rebuilding my exhaust with stainless steel plumbing type fixtures). You could come over to Middle River Yacht Club and raft up for a day or two if you would like. I should be running by Tuesday. We club race on Wednesday nights and if you and Vicki want to go racing on Blonde Stranger you are welcome to come along.

Are you a shoal draft or deep draft?

If you look at your chart, Pooles Island is directy West of Worton's and Middle River is Northwest of Pooles. There is a cut on the West side of Pooles that would save a little bit of time but it would probably be best to come around the South end of Pooles Is. A course of about 295-300 degrees should bring you to an R2 red bouy (about 2.8 miles) then about 2 miles on a course of about 280 degrees would bring you to a red dolphin at the mouth of Middle River. All this time to your starboard side will be the easy-to-pick-out-land-mark (when we are coming up the bay from Annapolis) are the red and white stacks of Seneca Power Plant. From the red dolphin a course of about 309 degrees will bring you straight up the river. Keep the two marks at Wilson Point to your starboard side, then a green daymarker to port, then at the red/green daymarker turn to port to about 265 degrees and on your port side will be Markley's Marina, the Riverwatch restaurant and next is Middle River Yacht Club. There is a row of 6 power boats pointing to the  middle of the river. At the end of those power boats on the West end there is a nice long T pier to raft up to and that is the location of our pump out station if you need it.

MIddle River YC is very friendly. We could have a beer or two. If you want more than a beer the Riverwatch is a very nice restaurant or we could show you a couple nice one's nearby. I could also drive you to any food stores or hardware stores nearby.

Also if you are still in the area on Sat. Sept 15th, there is a Chesapeake Catalina raft up in the Corsica River. We don't belong to the group but a friend with a C34 is planning to go and has invited us along. Maybe Micheal, Brett and Mark on Jones's Creek who hasn't responded yet could all come too.

If you look on your chart, Rock Hall is several miles South of Worton's just North of the Chester River. Corsica River is about 14 miles up the Chester River.

Give me call at Home 410-444-6801 has voice mail or cell 410-206-9663. It's Friday and I'll be down the boat most of the day working on the exhaust. Looking forward to meeting you and Vicki.

Dan and Marcy Miller

Hi all, We’ve left the familiar waters of Lake Superior in search of adventure! We are now in Chesapeake City and will be working our way down the bay. If there are any C-38ers out there that would be interested in getting together for a beer or coffee??, Drop me a line at Sailor6147 at Hotmail.com or through our blog site at Sailblogs.com – Wings.
