I cut the floor and walls out of the sail locker and then made new walls. I actually gained more room without the floor and the walls remove with zues fasters. But you should be able to access the auto pilot from the aft seat locker with the floor removed.

Not T shaped. It it is a trapezoid cut out of the the length and width
of the floor of the sail locker. See the cuts in the first image of the
blogspot site.

That's  the one Richard,
If you have the T shape cut-out, your boat is from the newer models, so no more cut-outs could or should be made.
If your boat still has the hot water tank behind the engine, you'll have to remove it for sure.
Pence you get in there, please send us a pic of the auto helm ram installation!

Hope this helps.

What I can?t figure out is how one can access the area that is directly behind the engine. There is that opening in the lazarette, but I?m not sure a human could actually get through that space. From the rear bunk, there?s just a rectangular opening that?s big enough for an arm attached to a flashlight, but that?s about it. How do all you owners tinker with the steering gear below the pedestal? Thanks very much in advance!
