[C38] exhaust leak

I had a hole in the origional muffler.  It never leaked water, but gave me two weeks of cleaning black exhaust from the inside of every compartment in the boat.  We left San Diego and couldn't fix it until we arrived in the San Francisco Bay Area.

That was my first thought, but everything seems to be ok. If that was the problem, would water be leaking from there as well?
Thanks.
