[C38] C38 Mast Base Repair

Bob you will need to cut out the cabin sole around the mast. The mast step
has fused itself to the mast and will have to be removed, and there will
probably be damage from corrosion. Should call your insurance company to
get some ideas on repairs. I did not replace the cabin sole when I did the
repair, just put some trim to clean up the hole. I put the metal step
directly on the wood support looks great and saved a ton of money. I will
post some pics when I get home next week if you would like. As an aside
sounds like your yard doesn't do much work on sailboats.
