[C38] Fuel tank vent

Steve,

I put ours in the radar mast, don't know if that's an option for you. We welded a tube and ran it inside the radar post, if you zoom on the orange float in the picture you can see the six down facing vent welded to the front of the mast.   Not an easy project but it fixed the problem.

The Cat 38 boat has a very poor diesel fuel tank vent design, with its exit located on the transom about 6 inches below the fill point.  The vent should never be below the deck fill entrance- the vent could be at least same level, but not below, as this is a chance for a diesel spill.  In the past I've relied upon my fuel gage, which  has failed.  Does anybody have any relocation suggestions?
