Send the harness back and run direct runs bypassing the need for a harness, Harnesses corrode, crack and start fires. On the website there should be an article Tom T, and I wrote about rewiring without the harness and replacement of the Ammeter.

Ahoy!
I'd appreciate anything you veterans can pass on to me. I've had my boat for 3 years now and I'm in the process of upgrading the electrical. I'm going to have my mechanic install a new wiring harness, received from Catalina Direct. I ordered the 16' harness, but I'm now wondering if I should send it back and get the 18' set. I've recently changed out a couple of the cockpit gauges and I can tell you that there's not much slack there, maybe 4"-6", if that's relevant.

Thanks very much!
