[C38] fuel problem

My ship had similar issue. Stalled, wait 10 minutes, started ran for 10
stalled...repeat. replaced all filters and discovered gunk, blackish tar in
bottom of fuel tank, got sucked in when low on fuel.  Removed tank, filled
with a 1" layer of gravel, soap, and warm water.  Slosh, rinse, repeat
until clean. Reinstall with new fuel...Never had a repeat.  Remember these
boats are 35 years old and most have never had tank cleaned.
