Powder-coating steering pedestalHi, Russ,
I can't speak to powder coating, but I do know that there are all ranges of costs.
I did have my mast done with AwlGrip. It has held up well for two years, but there is some surface corrosion showing up, and I need to get someone to address that so it doesn't cause problems. Based on that I am not sure that a pedistal would be served by the AwlGrip. I'll let you all know what we find on the bubbling later.
Regards,
Les H

Subject: [C38] Powder-coating steering pedestal
I was thinking of refinishing the steering pedestal on my 1981 while it is removed for repairing the rotted cockpit sole (which is progressing SLOWLY... damn rain!). Originally I was only going to paint it then I thought powder coating might be better. Has anyone done this? If so, how do you like it? How much would it cost? What were the pedestals originally finished with (mine is a 1981 model)? Thanks for the info
Sincerely,
Russ Duff
