Glen,
    While I have not had my C-38 in the Delta, I ran a twin screw 43 
foot houseboat with a flybridge out of Village West in Stockton during 
the 1980's. All my overheating problems in the Delta were related to 
water hycinth  clogging the engine intakes. Has that problem improved?
