Phil,
No I do not. Forward wall is straight with just a small shaved off
corner. Also my raw water intake value is almost under the engine and
reached thru the opening near the stairs. Actually, the story I got
about my boat is that the production line had been shut down and some
guy on the east coast insisted that Frank build him a 38. They still had
the hull and deck molds so they did. From there, they improvised. I have
windows similar to the 42 in my main cabin. I have a 4 cyclinder
Universal diesel from who knows where. I have louvered doors throughout
my salon like the 42. And I have a relatively straight quarterberth
forward wall.
The 4 cylinder Universal is about 150 pounds heavier than the
standard engine making us not competitive in class racing (altho we have
not done any we have had great difficulty sailing to 117 - our area PHRF
rating. We sail under the Club handicap rule where your rating changes
after every race so that is not an issue. We also have a heavy anchor
windlass and have re-built the bow roller incorporating a steel plate
which runs back to the edge of the anchor locker. We also have Lewmar
plastic hatches which you can see thru instead of the fiberglass ones.)
The guy back east cancelled his order and the dealer back there refused
the boat. Frank cancelled his dealership and the boat sat in his Marina
del Rey sales outlet until I came along. I traded a 43 foot coastal
twin-screw powerboat with flybridge in on the 38 but that is another
story. )Joe
