[C38] alternator

Thanks Larry. I had thought about that, but I am not convinced that the one installed by the previous owner is the right one as it doesn't seem to align very well which I think may have contributed to its failiure. If someone can tell me what model should be on it would help me tell if the one I have is right or wrong.

Often , so called marine alternators are available from olaces like NAPA for considerably less than a boatyard.

  Mark, what we did was take the old one to a shop that specializes in rebuilding them, had it rebuilt and it works wonderfully.  Also a lot cheaper than buying a new one.
