[C38] Prop Information

Hi Larry,  I'm in the hunt for a new folding prop too.  I just hauled my 
boat in Oceanside for the two year bottom paint job.  The Martec folding, 
type 3, I had is a vibrator starting at about 2500 rpm.  Two years ago I had 
the prop rebuilt by Martec, had the drive shaft machine-shop check, new 
strut bearing, and shaft re-aligned and the vibration was still there.  The 
result of two years of operation was a loose strut, which we re-bedded with 
epoxy.  I then put my old 3 blade prop on with no vibration- so that is my 
baseline.  I do want to consider a geared Martec though.  Did you consider a 
geared prop?  Who did you buy your prop from?
