[C38] Speaking of prop struts...

The Goose had her strut rplaced in 2004. I was amazed at how deep the fibre
glass was there. On her there is a keeper plat glassed in the inside of the
hull and for long guide bolts come up from the strut and locate into the 4
holes in the keeper plate, but there are no nuts to fasten down the bolts to
the keeper plate-- I think they are purely there for positioning. The sheer
depth of glass is probably more then adequate to hold it. Frank Butler
happened to be visiting the yard when it was being done and took some time
out to watch what the yard was doing so I guess they must have done it
right!!
