I had the same problem on my 22.  My solution was to pop-rivet some
aluminum angle to the sliding top, and add wood strips along the bottom.
On my 38, I have put in teflon furniture sliders to reduce the wear.
Catalina now adds teflon tape, and they may sell some of that to you if
you ask.  But the repair is a real issue on our boats, because the whole
dog house has to be opened up and the top slid out from what I can see.
But Catalina may have a simpler method.
