Hi there,

I removed my tank after using a pump to transfer te fuel to 5 gal cans while
filtering it with a fine screen. Then, I followed a friend's advise and and
threw almost 3 feet of chain thru the gauge hole and a gal of diesel,
started shaking and moving the tank so the chain could dance all around the
inside. After five cicles like this, all the inside surface was clean and
the diesel was comming clean. I installed it back, and that was it. oh wait,
before that, a drilled a hole and welded a niple with a 1/2 plug, so if the
gauge or sender fails, I just remove the plug and insert a stick in order to
check the fuel level.
Hope this helps.
