[C38] Spreaders Question

If I remember correctly, mine are seized to the shroud with heavy twine.
They are pretty secure and it really takes some force to move them up or
down. I don't know if I'd use monel. I'd be afraid that it might cause
crevice corrosion in the SS wire. On the other hand, maybe the twine on
mine holds moisture and will also cause problems?

Subject: [C38] Spreaders Question

Hi everybody,

While I was up the mast replacing my standing rigging, I noticed that the
spreaders have some up and down play, and that they are kept in the right
angle just by the tension on the wires.
My quetion is:
Should I put some monel wire on every spreader tip to hold
them in place, or should I leave them alone?????

Thanks
