Good day all....

After sailing, racing and cruising for 35 years or so... Always as a
bridesmaid, never a bride.. crewed and rented..helmsman, deck ape,
tactician.. I have finally found myself in a position to buy my boat... My
nest is empty...

I have sailed and raced Ericsons, (30,35), Columbia 30s, Ranger 33s (great
boat), Hunters, J24s, et al. Most of my sailing has been SF Bay, Southern
California, and Northern Oregon. I enjoy heavy weather sailing. Sailing
with my boat will be club racing (spinnaker and non-spinnaker class),
weekending, and coastal cruising to the SoCal Islands, (maybe a sojourn to
Hawaii). Short and long crew.

Sooo... My spec is a boat that club races well, handles lite and heavy
weather equally well, can be short crewed, comfortable accommodations for 6,
and, well, looks great (form fits function). I have never sailed a Catalina
38.

Based upon my research and personal experience....top of my short list, in
order.... Catalina 38, Ericson 35-38.

Sooo... with all of that, Why the Catalina 38??? Who else to ask than the
people who own one?

Comments and observations are more than welcomed....

Thanks.
