  Patrick,

I do not have a suggestion nor advice in this. However, I do have a query.... This is no small task so you must have determined that there is a benefit for you in changing...

Could you elucidate me to what you have determined to be the advantage in using an all rope halyard rather than a rope/cable? I have always understood that the rope/cable is used in halyards because it stretches less under load than an all rope halyard.

  Thanks....

any tips on changing from former cable to rope halyard to plain rope/line?

I know I'll have to replace the pulley at the top of the mast because the line is wider than the cable but it would cool to only have to go there once.
    Patrick
