[C38] Fuel tank removal

Do most people use these doors to add a cabinet or is it just access? Last weekend when I was pondering how to get the tank out my wife said just cut a hole there and make a box for emergency things like the fire extinguisher and floating strobe.

She seems to always be ahead of me.

Interesting! I went to yachtworld.com to check out the cabinet door. There
were 21 boats listed. Of the 21 that had a clear picture of the front of the
quarter-berth, only 3 had the cabinet door, and it was different on each
one. I wonder if they were added later to make it easier to run wires?

I have an 83 and do not have any door on the front of
my quarter berth. I removed the tank last year to
replace the raw water seacock. I had to use a long
screwdriver and a lot of patience.
