We use a towel and a big prussic with a snap swivel. Works the same. Not
as nifty looking.
Also we only run one sheet and pass it around the bow when gibing. I think
the sail flies better in light air with less weight in the clew. YMMV.
To put the sail away, we head dead down wind, let the sheet fly, unsnap
the tack and bring it to the mast. Then drop the halyard and gather up the
sail. By myself I can do this without the sail touching the water 90% of
the time. Add my 8 year old daughter and we're damn near 100%.
I talked to another C38 owner who races single handed and flies an a-sym
with the aid of a sock. Count me impressed! (with both him and the sock!)
