We use our original alcohol stove and oven when racing, the night before the wife makes up sandwiches for the crew and them warms them in the oven. Great for the downwind leg.

I removed my oven....replaced it with a $100 refrigerator. I can't remember the last time I baked cookies on board. I have a two-burner portable stove top, microwave, and bar-be-que that's attached to rail in rear. The original refrigerator is very inefficient. I went to TAP Plastic and bought a clear 18 x 20" 3/8 " plastic to cover the opening in the original refrigerator. I keep the bottom filled with water and put a blocked or bag of ice on top to keep stuff cool.

Not sure if this interests anyone...could send photos.

Sorry if this has already gone out, any feedback would be appreciated.

I am in the process of remodeling the galley. I have selected a 2 burner Force-10 stove size (American Standard) and have the chose of mounting it as it is, which is level with the sink counter top. I have chosen this manufacture because the oven door slides under the stove and out of the way when it's opened.

My other option would be to buy the compact model which is approximately 2 inches shorter and mount it under the counter top. I would need to install a hinged door from the rear of the opening making it flush with the rear counter top and install a latch to secure it when in the up position. I would duplicate the Formica on the top andbond a stainless steel skin to the under side for safety reasons. In the end it would increase counter top space.
