Ken,

My table looks just like the photos Bret sent I also have an 85. My table was mounted incorrectly on the x bracket so that when lowered it would not fit properly. Easy enough to fix but something to keep in mind when you are locating yours.

Steve

A friend of mine a couple of slips down gave me some Marine Goop. I cleaned preped and applied as instructed. The connection looks very good. I will check it the next few times we go out especially in rough weather to see if the bonding holds.
Thankyou for all your input.
Now my next problem, dinette table. I checked the archives and found some onfo from Stephan in 2009 and some photos from Max in 2008. My problem is how the table is mounted to the deck. The last owner did a number on the stand. The aluminum tube that fits over the rod has no connectior. When I pull the tube off I can't get the rod off the deck. Everthing wobbles and when I snug on the black nob just above the stand, the table looks like people were line dancing on it. The last owner put a bolt through the aluminum tube and jamed some wood up under the table with a home made wooden clamp. It makes you want to cry when you look underneath. It looks like there was some kind of bracket assembly to steady the table. There is a elongated X with threaded holes with the center fitting over the aluminum sleve.
Is it possible to get some pictures of what the table looks like underneath so I can make repairs? By the way it's a 1983 boat if that is any help.
