[C38] cat 38 owners on the Chesapeake

In the same vein, I just replaced my Lewmar 48s with a pair of manual Harken
60.3STs that I bought on Ebay. I cut a 5" hole above the ice box just
inboard of the cabinet. The access above the ice box is actually better
than the access over the quarterberth.

BTW there was plenty of room for the 60's where the 48s were located.

Larry,
In order to set up my boat for when I get old, I am installing 3 Harken
electric winches which I will race with. (See July Sailing World, Soozal) I
have an access port on the starboard side over the quarter berth for one
primary. I will have to make the access port larger and go with a vertical
winch motor but no big deal. On the port side I am having trouble locating
the winch from below to cut my access hole. Anyone out there done this and
have a clue? Joe Launie/Macavity(and I will have three well cared for 2
speed Lewmar chrome selftailing winches for sale - 2 -52's and a 30. )
