[C38] Radio GPS connections

I have a Uniden 325 Radio and Garmin map76sc with Blue Charts. Following
Uniden and Garmin instructions I am unable to gain the full benefit of the
two.  I can obtain GPS to radio w/o boat power to the GPS OR I can obtain
boat power to GPS but no transfer of LAT/LONG to radio for MMSI
transmissions. I cant believe this to be an unusual problem. The GPS cable
contains 4 wires and the lead in cable to the radio has eight.  All are
defined by the manuals.  Any experts out there!
