RE: Broach Coach

Our fourth day out between Montauk and Bermuda we had a heap of wind and a
big following sea. We ran just about dead down wind on a scrap of rolled
up gennie with the Aries steering making 7-8 kts and the boat was well
behaved -- no rounding up or other dramatics.

Maybe not helpful for you racing speed junkies, but the C38 will run
downwind. What seems to work for me is making sure the sails are trimmed
in a way that they don't power up if the nose heads up. I find this nearly
impossible with the genoa out, so make most of my downhill runs with a
loosely trimmed main.
