[C38] spreaders (alden)

Steve,

I replaced the rigging in 2008, used the existing spreaders, I believe mine are newer as They seem to go side by side, and no the rigger did not put fittings, that is why Im wondering if there should be some as one of my upper spreaders went up about 10 degrees after the OOR.

Steve

Steve S,

No they didn't. As I remember you installed new rigging last year. Did you replace the spreaders with the new design from LeFiell and if you did, did the "above and below" fittings come with the new spreaders

Steve,

Did they mention or do you know if the wire should have a fitting of some sort above and below the spreader to keep them in position?

Steve S.

Alden,

Thanks but no thanks- for the spreader offer. I talked to Rodney at LeFiell to day and he informed me of the design change. The new design for the tips is much improved. The old design had the upper shroud on top of the mid shroud, kept aligned with the aluminum cast spreader tip. The upper SS wire was sawing it's way through the aluminum cast tip- about 1/3 of its way through. The new design tip has the upper and mid shrouds aligned side-by-side eliminating the side way wear.

Thank for your help, Steve O
