A little more info on the Custom Axis Laminate sails that I purchased from Island Planet

In the last two years Ive replaced my Main, #1, #2, #3, a .75 Asym and a killer AirX700 Symetrical all from Island Planet. CAL does offer a higher performing sail than Dacron, Its not a North 3DL or other high tech type of sail, Its alot heavier than Kevlar and a higher level of performance than Dacron and offers a nice fit for a performance cruising sail that can be raced with yet cost about the same as a good Dacron Sail. I figured since I wasnt buying sails for a J109 or similiar boat I was better off getting a well rounded inventory versus one or two high end racing sails, all in all the sails averaged about $3000 dollars give or take a few hundred based on the sail, I went with the Vectran fibre over the Pentec. All mine were purchased during the winter specials. Dave is a great guy to work with and should be included on the web site under Best of the Best

I know dave personaly and buy all my sails from him. He has the sails cut to your needs and uses the best products. I feel the quality he puts out are better than north sails. Alden

Take heart in that you're not alone...I got a quote of $4,200 for a
135%...but since I have the ORIGINAL 1980 furler they're recommending it be
changed out...oh, and I don't have jib leads/cars because the guy before me
used snatch blocks on the toe rail for the 150...so, if I really want to do
it I'm looking at about $6,900. But hey, I've got a dingy AND an
inflatable, so I guess I'm doing pretty good!

I am the guy who thought he was going to buy a C38 but never did. Bought
something else and stayed on this list for the info that pertains to all boats
and the fact that I am still a admirer of the C38. The bid I just got for a
new Main from Island Planet was incredible. They are taking orders now for
delivery late winter with a substantial discount. I believe this discount
expires in a week or two.
