Whew Chuck, scary indeed.  There is a great article in Sailing magazine on
Safety at Sea and some encounters during the Pacific Cup.  If you read the
articles you will see Horizon mentioned, Horizon is owned by Jack Taylor who
also owned Hassle at one point.

  We just had a pretty bad Nor'easter out here with 50+ sustained winds and
4-5 foot square waves in the mooring field at my yacht club.  Two boats
broke free with major damage and another sank!  It would have been much
worse, but the large majority of boats had already been put on hard 
for the winter.   My boat was at a dock as it was scheduled to be pulled 
out for the winter and it was really hobby-horsing as our boats are prone to
do.  The top of my mast looked like it was a fly fishing rod, 
whipping back and forth!   That is when the owner of the marina went on 
the Mighty Quinn and lowered the 45# delta anchor on chain so that it 
almost touched the bottom.   It was amazing how much that steadied the boat!
