[C38] NEW WEBSITE!!!

Hi all,
This is a BIG move for us on the website that has been in the works for 
some time.  The new website will allow us to include a lot of 
information in our private area that we simply could not provide 
otherwise.  Some of the options that are in the works have been 
announced by Anders.  Others such as offerings of burgees, caps, etc. 
are also on the way, as well as fleet options to help our members get 
together.  For example, we are /close/ to creating a Northwest U.S. 
fleet with a discussion board within the members only area.  Phil Gay 
has agreed to take the lead on this working with Steve Orton and Steve 
Smolinske.  This will be an area where fleet members can arrange to get 
together and even race.  We also will be able to post some information 
(such as Polars) that could not be on a public site.

In sum, this is a massive undertaking with many, many hours of work and 
expertise (mostly from Anders and all volunteered).  We believe there is 
significant value being offered within this site for all lovers of our 
marvelous boats.  Beyond all the volunteer hours, are the server costs 
of maintaining the site, listserve and archives.  Simply put, it costs 
money to run even a all volunteer organization and we need your 
financial support to continue.  As you know the cost of membership is 
only $25 per year and it gives all sorts of benefits.... one of which 
will be access to the members area.  The listserve will continue to be 
available to non members.

Treasurer Steve Orton is working with Anders to keep the list of paid 
members who will be given access to the website.  We are using the list 
from last year as Steve is just in the process of sending out the annual 
dues note to current members.   You might want to do Steve a favor by 
just sending him your check for this year with the form available on the 
public side of our website!
