[C38] bow sprits

Craig!
Don't!  Our pole seems like a solid device, but it is nowhere near 
strong enough to withstand the loads a sprit takes.  Get a sprit and 
loose the pole!
By the way, you WILL be stopping by my house on  your way through the 
Erie Canal at Albany!
